Mission Statement
My journey to becoming a counsellor is rooted in my own life's journey, as well as in the tremendously healing relationships I have had with counsellors during key transition periods in my life. Through my experiences, I have come to value hope, learning, and growth. I firmly believe my effectiveness as a professional also rests in both my professional and personal growth. Moreover, I came to understand courage as the essential component of my resilience. Therefore, my defining value as a person and as a counsellor is courage. It is also the strength I am most apt to point out in my clients—from our very first encounter.
As a therapist, I strive to practice ethically, creatively, and with integrity. I aspire to help my clients find hope, self-acceptance, and growth in line with their goals, as well as pride in their successes. I also trust that every human being deserves understanding, kindness, and compassion, and as such, I aspire to develop healthy and effective therapeutic relationships with clients. I am passionate about human rights and social justice, and these values underpin my life’s work. I enjoy projects that work towards prevention of mental health issues, and regularly lead and/or participate in such initiatives.
